Thoughts

I have been reading through book after book, writing down so many notes, at the moment 'stress' is such a huge thing i need to narrow it down.  These are just random notes iv been taking while thinking and researching around my project.


Stress affects our persception – support? Why do I think this… When our bodies are under strain or stress we are affected by internal and external changes (mind shift, pg 4, line9 )Physically when we get stressed our body goes into a state of threat, this sparks a biochemical change in our body. This bio chemical change

Stress can be known as a result of an interaction between you and your environment. Nothing is stressful unless you interpret it as such. In this sense stress is a relationship between you and your environment when you perceive and evaluate your environment as a threat to your well-being. (mind shift, pg four, bottom of page)

Three types of appraisal; primary appraisal – evaluating the importance of a situation (stressor) for your wellbring; secondary appraisal – felling you can do something about it ; reappraisal – when there are changes in your evaluation as a result of changes in the situation.

Do people take enough tie in a day to just breathe.

Is stress a silence killer in our generation?

-at the moment what would I include?
Stress being a huge part to our lives , it affects everyone on a day to day basis, it has good qualities to motivate but if you stay in that state for a prolonged period as we are today (support this) it can have a negative physical as well as mental effect on us. Bad immune systems ,liver damage, cancer, depression, muscle tension, headaches.

Why is it significant?
As the amount of time our bodies live in a stressed state is a silent killer, Learning to stress less and change our perceptions is a simple change to make in our lives for a healthier mind and body

What is the point?
To help people realize they don’t have to stay in a ‘permanent’ state of stress on a day to day basis, that if they only take a moment out to breathe now and then it can help you live in a happier state.

Why is design an appropriate response?
Art and design is seen as a realm that ‘is tasteful, ( read in book, find where it said this) Art and design is a platform in which because it is a creative respone can make you engage with it on many levels. Imagery and words can help to make things clear in a simple , easy to retrieve medium that can reach a broad audience.


Random mumbling.
Make my ads art – J.R as example. Creating a smile, communities – support networks – separating work from home, leave you stresses at work? Nah but I want people to be able to manage their stress better- how do you get people to handle their stress better? Breathing, mediating , escaping for a moment? Changing  persceptions of objects? Depending on your state of mind/being affects our perceptions. Do trends dictate how we perceve objects/situations?

How people persceive their situations? Do we persceieve the world in a more negivate view or positive? How many times in a day would we perceive the day in a bad light rather than a bright light. Is that many were consumerism comes in? is stress a big factor to our presception of the world.
