BP 'Road Happy' by Ogilvy NZ and Curious via StopPress

A new ad that looks at new Zealand drivers and road happiness, looking at positive aspects of driving.
Explores new Zealand stereotypes and look/feel. symbolises situations of driving round nz
I like the style in which it is made and the message it carries about road happiness. Hold similarities in style to the 'interIslander' adverts. with the messages of togetherness you take away from adverts like these

Ad 1. four mates campaign, shows a positive message to teenagers about drunk drinking.

‘What we find is that our students don’t respond so well to the graphic ads, that they prefer things that are more in keeping with the positive messages that we try to portray . Such as planning before you party and that is why the four mates ad was so successful.

Outdoor ad: Together against the death penalty: Take a stand

Outdoor ad: Together against the death penalty: Take a stand

This ads shows how invovling people in what the ad is asking shows significant change, also by adding
in the scanning element it gives the audience an easy way to do a good deed for the day, by them actually getting
inbetween the soilder and civilian would being a sense of pride, and justice to the person.

Nice way to turn a service ad into something more.

Outdoor ad: Fanta: Lift & Laugh

Outdoor ad: Fanta: Lift & Laugh

Have seen elevator installation so many times and it seemed to have lost its impact on me as they usually play with
the doors opening and closing to incase the ad, this is a new way to see it done. All the reactions looked great, desired
affect. Good way to get their name back out there. Limited audience as online in one building but then again word of mouth
travels fast. Looks like a student building , great location for target audience. Audience would have been stoaked to get free
fanta. Limited life tho? perhaps ? As by the end of the clip just looked like testing out for free stuff, but i suppose that is part of the
desired affect.

Outdoor ad: Ariel Washing Powder: Big Stain

Outdoor ad: Ariel Washing Powder: Big Stain

Really interesting way to turn a mundane household purchase into a seemingly fun and up with the times brand.
By using wii consoles in staining products and Ariel cleaning product they arect massive t-shirts around japan and
get the masses to interact with it. The results show it worked a treat. Really like it !

TV ad: Skittles: Cat

TV ad: Skittles: Cat

Havent seen an ad before that causes this type of interaction with the screen! creepy but made me laugh, not sure about the ending though, enjoy the idea, but it if your audience didnt place their finger on the skittle not sure how strong it would be. good idea for online as you would probably be more inclined to touch the screen being arms distance rather than on actual tv, people may not move from the couch

TV ad: Dirt Devil: The Exorcist

TV ad: Dirt Devil: The Exorcist

An ad that uses fear tactics solved with humor, found it griped me the whole way through untill the crap logo was shown, didnt suit the rest of the advert, maybe could have been stylized different?

Something to remember when crafting my project to make sure it all flows in a specific style

TV ad: Dodge Charger: Car Chase

TV ad: Dodge Charger: Car Chase

Cool way to explore an idea thats not obivous, knew it was a car ad which i usually dont bother watching because most that ive seen are quite dry but this one was nice as it had a story to listen to that was different and engaging for me also humourous! makes you smile

little thoughts for myself

Firstly  understand the statistics.

found from the Government Statistics department or the Police or ministry of transport nz. I imagine there is a difference between the number of traffic police in the rural area vs city – how do they determine that, maybe police per 1000 people? Then the relationship between offences between rural vs city. If you view the aspect of speeding you may find there are more fatal accidents in the country. If that is the case then I could develop a theme based on two different approaches – Rural to stop fatal accidents through speed reduction and City to highlight other things, or maybe to remind everyone in the city that when they are driving in the country look out for such and such, and therefore create a link, so when someone goes to the country they can pick up on the theme, so the complement each other.
